Two kittens sticking their heads out of a T-Shirt. Carved by Peter this was originally intended to be used at an event and had appropriate wording on the front of the T-Shirt. There could still be plans to use the piece and it is very cute so let's hope that they do.

House of Lords dealers are to have an exclusive piece for an event later in the year. There will be two colour variations. The piece is rumoured to be a group of three animals and to be carved by Peter and Adam in collaboration.

Don't care what they say now - when Peter carved that "Bush Baby" he said it was a Tarsier and it was going to be a box not a NetsUKe!

We understand that the 2001 UK event will be held over the weekend of 9th and 10th June and will again feature some kind of games, as teams will be invited to take part. This time however the challenges will not be purely physical. The main event will be on the Sunday and collectors must attend on this day to receive the event piece. We don't yet know the venue but expect that it will again be somewhere in the south of England.

One of Peter's first 2001 releases is likely to be a small Treasure Jest, featuring a Tarsier (a small monkey-like animal of South East Asia, with large eyes and a long tail). Although it's not quite finished it depicts a single Tarsier clutching a tree stump. Peter tells us that it will have something inside but he hasn't yet decided what - but we're sure that it'll be pretty spectac-ular what ever it is.
Following the success of the It's a Knockout event in the UK earlier this year, we can expect an announcement soon that there is to be another UK event in the summer of 2001. The dates, venue and format have yet to be decided.
To confirm our "rumour" of 9 September, next year is going to be the year of Planet HK.

Martin has been working on a new piece entitled the Wheel of Life for the last 18 months and it should be finished within the next month. The piece is a large and very intricate wheel depicting evolution of life. Martin tells us that the piece will actually revolve and whilst it doesn't contain the same humour of many of the pieces, it is fascinating in its complexity.
Unfortunately, if it is produced commercially, it is likely to be in extremely low numbers.

Looks like there's going to be a new series of Disney pieces which will be available through the Disney Retail shops - these are smaller than the current Disney pieces that are only available through Disney Attractions (theme parks). If this happens lets hope that they can be purchased through the UK Disney shops also.
Has Adam Binder persuaded Martin that Wimberley requires a couple of Pot Belly pigs? Apparently Adam's parents have some of these wonderful animals and two from a recent litter (brother and sister) are very likely to become a permanent feature at the Mill.
Fat Cats Meow and Alley Cats Meow are in fact two of a series of six pieces carved by Monique Baldwin - so will we get to see others?
Martin has been experimenting with some very small netsuke type pieces and we could expect to see these making an appearance as part of the Harmony Kingdom range.
09 September 2000
The year 2001 Membership Kit is likely to be two pieces carved by Peter Calvesbert and Adam Binder, both with a "space" theme and will incorporate a character that is already known to us.
Watch out for a very special new creation by Peter Calvesbert which is due out in March 2001!
06 August 2000
The next Anniversary piece is due to be the Wooden Anniversary and we've been told that Andrea has had enough of the way she's been depicted and is ready to get her own back this time. We also understand that the piece will include a woodpecker - we just dread to think what it might be pecking.
Have you wondered what to call the new mark used for the year 2000 production stamp? We are still not quite sure but now, at least we now what it is - it's two "M"s (one inverted) and stands for the Millennium. What do we call it though
The Double M Mark
The Millennium Mark
The MM Mark
Or will it stay as "that funny sort of diamond with bits missing......."?
Please let us know what you think.

Could the Roly Polys have something inside them in the future? We've been told that this was a possibility mentioned on a recent Cat's Meow tour in the UK and would be due to popular demand. Thanks to Heather Turner for the info.
13 June 2000
Our rumour of the 20 February is confirmed - we saw the year 2000 Independent Members' piece at the It's a Knockout event. It's Murphy all right - he's big and he's beautiful.

Plea to UK HK Addicts to log on to the CollectorNet chat room at 8 pm (UK time) on 8 April - that way there might be someone there! - Thanks go to Kathryn Barker for the idea.
26 March 2000
There are more pieces planned for the NetsUKe series and it seems likely that one of them will be a Dragon.
20 Feb 2000
Looks like there will be another exclusive piece for members of the Independent Clubs - could Murphy be making an appearance?
Adam Binder, who is bringing his already established fairy collection to Harmony Kingdom, is rumoured to have another series in the pipeline - these will be golf ball sized spheres with something of a Netsuke look about them. Could they really be called Roly Polys?
What exactly does that say on Waddles' wing - and who put it there, that's the mystery - needless to say it has now been removed from the Master moulds - so a nice little variation.
The Clare De Lune series by Julie Baharucha is due out in June, and controversy is raging over the nude and semi-nude pieces. The outcome is that they will be issued in Limited Editions - except the cats, which will be open (these will still be naked however).
13 Feb 2000
The new Black Box is due out later this year ("Nosebleed") but we heard that Peter had carved two possible Black Boxes - the other featuring The British Royal Family - guess they went for the less controversial option - but could it be a future piece?
Following the Retirement of Pot Sticker, virtually before it had appeared, rumour has it that others from the new releases may be destined for the same fate - this could just be the Harmony Kingdom marketing machine, but why take the chance - they are all great so get them early and don't be disappointed.
